DEBUTS
Enea Bastianini, nicknamed ‘La Bestia’ (The Beast), is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle rider born in Rimini, Italy, on December 30th, 1997. Like many professional riders, Enea was brought very young on two wheels, when he rode his first minibike at 3 years old and 3 months. Showing great potential from a very young age, Enea participated in the MiniGP Italian championship and won the Trophy NSF250R in 2012, before competing in the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup in 2013. He took two victories in his first year to wrap it up with a 4th place in the final standing, while also making his first steps in Moto3 in the Italian championship.
2014-2018: FIVE SEASONS TO IMPRESS
Enea’s impressive season in the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup caught the eye of the Moto3™ Junior Team GO&FUN of Fausto Gresini, who offered him a ride in 2014 to make his first steps in the Grand Prix. Winning the Rookie of the Year award, the Italian caused a sensation with three podiums in his first season, and he was logically resigned for a second season with the same team in 2015, renamed the Gresini Racing Team Moto3. Kicking off 2015 with a bang, on the podium of the opening round in Qatar, Enea delivered a solid season until finally gifting himself with his maiden win in the lightweight class on his home turf, in Misano. With a win and another 5 podiums, the Italian ranked 3rd of the championship that season. Still racing for Gresini in 2016, Bastianini arrived in his third season in the young class as a serious title contender. The first half of 2016 was tough, but the Italian regrouped and closed the season as the runner-up with six new podiums, including a win in Motegi. ‘The Beast’ remained in Moto3 for a fourth season in 2017 with a new team, Estrella Galicia 0,0, but he reached the top 3 just three times that season, pushing him down to 6th in the rankings that year. Clearly looking for more, the Italian, aged 21 years old, migrated to Leopard Racing to continue fighting at the front for the title. 6 podiums including a win in Catalunya saw him finish in 4th in the standings, making it clear for the Italian that it was time to move up.
2019-2020: TIME FOR GLORY
In 2019, Enea Bastianini finally moved to Moto2™ with the Italtrans Racing team. It was a successful rookie season for the Italian who closed the championship in 10th with 9 top 10 finishes, and a maiden Moto2™ podium in Brno. 2019 was just the appetizer. Remaining with Italtrans for a second season, 2020 was the year of coronation after so much hard work. Three wins and another 4 podiums that year saw him become the new Moto2™ World Champion in the ultimate round of a Covid-19 disrupted season.
2021-2022: A NEW STAR IS BORN
The new champion signed in 2021 with Avintia Esponsorama to make his debuts in the premier class. Despite a shy start in the category, Bastianini will showcase his talent towards the end of the season with two podiums at home, at the San Marino Grand Prix and the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. He missed by a narrow margin the top 10 in the final standing, and he was just nine points from the Rookie of the Year award, earned by Jorge Martin. A new star was born in 2022. Reunited with the Gresini Racing MotoGP™ team, Enea Bastianini made the headlines with a flying start as he took his maiden MotoGP™ win in the opening round of the season, in Qatar, also gifting Gresini with their first-ever win in the premier class on their very debuts in MotoGP™. Three more stunning wins were added in Austin, Le Mans and Aragon, and his third place in the championship convinced Ducati Factory Racing to offer him a ride for two years.
2023-2024: LA CREME DE LA CREME
Representative of a whole culture and family, Enea Bastianini rode for two seasons as a Ducati Factory rider alongside the number 1, Francesco Bagnaia. Unfortunately for Enea, the first half of 2023 was disrupted by an unlucky injury in the opening round in Portimao, which forced him to miss 9 of the 20 rounds that year. He finished 15th in the general standing, and found the strength to grab his first win with the Factory team in Malaysia. ‘The Beast’ did not say his final word, although rumours had him out of the Factory seat. 2024 was a strong campaign for the Italian who finished 4th of the championship, a season highlighted by two wins, another 7 podiums, 2 wins in sprint, another 6 medals in the sprint and a pole position. Still, that was not enough for Ducati Factory who picked Marc Marquez to replace the Italian alongside Bagnaia in 2025.
2025: NEW BEGINNINGS
Enea Bastianini will begin a new adventure in 2025, after signing a factory contract with KTM, and will race with Red Bull KTM Tech3 alongside Maverick Vinales.
