#SolidarityGP - November 11, 2024

Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 is getting ready for the season finale of an exciting 2024 MotoGP™ campaign, exceptionally being held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya following the terrible floods that have affected the community of Valencia recently. As we go #RacingforValencia, MotoGP™ will put all efforts possible to help those in need in this special week in Barcelona, with a special finale named the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona, that will see many initiatives put in place to gather relief funds to help the people of Valencia. While the championship is still on the line, it will also be a special round for the team, with Pedro Acosta and Augusto Fernandez both racing for the last time with Red Bull GASGAS Tech3, in addition to the team showcasing its red bikes for the last time before a new switch to KTM orange.

One more week to go and MotoGP™'s sensation Pedro Acosta will not be a rookie anymore! The young Shark is arriving in Barcelona for his final round with Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 before making the big step to Red Bull KTM Factory alongside Brad Binder in 2025, with bigger objectives to face! After delivering a tremendous rookie season in the premier class, the young Shark of Murcia is arriving to the season finale with a 5th place in the championship, just three points ahead of future teammate Binder. Already, he holds an impressive record of 209 points, earned with five Sunday podiums, four Sprint medals, and another series of top 10 results. The only rider who has done better than Pedro Acosta in his rookie season in the last decade or so, is no one else than the eight-time World Champion, Marc Marquez, who clinched the title in his rookie season in 2013, with 334 points. Of course, the Tissot Sprint format introduced in 2023 has allowed more points to be earned in every round, but numbers speak for themselves, and whatever the outcome of this final round will be, one thing is sure: Pedro Acosta's debuts in the premier class did not disappoint, and a great future awaits him in the premier class. Heading to Barcelona for the second time this season will be an advantage for the Spaniard. At the Catalan Grand Prix earlier this year, the #31 impressed with a second row-start, a sprint medal, and ten exceptional opening laps in Sunday's race, during which we saw him fight for the win. Sadly he crashed, but he was able to recover to P13 and bring home some points.

Augusto Fernandez will be looking forward to returning racing in front of home fans as we #RaceForValencia, with the Spaniard set to race for the final time with Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 after two seasons with the team. 2022 Moto2™ World Champion, Augusto Fernandez arrived in MotoGP™ in 2023 and delivered a solid rookie season, highlighted by a 4th place at the French Grand Prix early in the season. Many top 15 followed, and a few strong top 10 results got him a second year with the squad. 2024 has not been the easiest of the season for Fernandez who struggled to find his way around the 2024 machine, but his never give-up attitude will be remembered. The Spaniard is arriving in Barcelona fresh from a great top 10 in Malaysia, his best Sunday result of 2024, and both Augusto and the team will be willing to finish this season in the best way possible.

As MotoGP™ roars one last time for 2024, you don't want to miss an exceptional weekend at the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona, with the action kicking off on Friday morning at 10:45 (GMT+1) with Free Practice 1, followed in the afternoon by the one hour-Practice session, at 3pm. Super Saturday will be launched with Free Practice 2 at 10:10, just before the final qualifying of the season starts at 10:50. As Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia continue their fight for the crown, lights of the Tissot Sprint will go out at 15:00 LT for 12 laps, before Sunday's main show scheduled at 14:00, for 24 laps!

Key initiatives will take place at the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona this weekend as we go #RacingForValencia. You can find the full info on MotoGP™'s website, just here.

"We got some rest after being around half of Asia, so it felt really good being back home! We are going to Barcelona for the final round, a circuit that I like, and where I feel comfortable and competitive. The main objective will be to finish the season as the best Pierer Mobility bike, and if it can be with a podium at home, all the better. We will give everything and try to offer the people a good show, and hopefully gather as much as we can for the people of Valencia. Let's go!"

"Really looking forward to this last race of the season. After all what happened in Valencia, we will race for them this weekend. Personally, I think that we can have a good weekend after the top 10 in Malaysia, especially heading to Barcelona, a track that I really like!"

Team Manager
"We are heading to the final round of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship, which will be held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya following the devastating floods in Valencia. The entire MotoGP community is fully committed to race for Valencia, and several actions will be taken by teams and riders to help the people in need. It will be the second time of the year that we go racing in Barcelona, an extra chance for our riders as they already have experience from earlier this year in June. Pedro Acosta qualified on row 2, he was on the podium in the sprint, and he was fighting for the podium in the main race until a technical issue forced him to retire. He will be heading to that last round with full confidence from two very good rounds in Thailand and Malaysia, and we know that he will want to end his rookie season with a strong result. Augusto Fernandez scored his best season result in Sepang with a top 10, and we know that he will be willing to conclude his Pierer Mobility adventure in the best way possible. This weekend will be very special for us too, as it will be the last time we will be in red, so let’s get on the gas for the last time!"
