#MugelloTest - June 3, 2024

Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 remained at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello for one more day after the Gran Premio d'Italia Brembo, as a busy day of testing awaited Pedro Acosta and Augusto Fernandez on Monday. Unfortunately, there was almost no track time for both riders, after the rain kept disrupting the day.

There was a big testing plan on Pedro Acosta’s side, with a third bike on his side of the garage and many items to try out. However, the big rain from overnight left the track damp, with not much to gain going out straight at 10:00. Pedro eventually went out after 11am to gain a bit more experience in the wet, but he could not try out the new things in the wet conditions. On Augusto Fernandez’ side, the plan was to continue trying different settings to improve his feeling, but the only thing he could do was train in the rain, and get some valuable experience in these conditions though. Both did not return on track, Pedro rode a total of 17 laps and Augusto, 15.

"We were unable to go through the busy test plan that we had today, which included the new bike and some new parts, but we were able to get a few laps in the wet, which is good for us. I don’t have much rain experience in MotoGP so at least we worked on that. Basically, just rain training, no new parts tested."

"We did not have any new parts to try today because my package is good enough, we just need to find a way to exploit it at its best and be more competitive. Most of the things that we needed to try were planned on the dry, but in the end we got the rain. Normally I am quite good in the wet, but in Jerez I was not competitive, so we worked on a few things today to try to improve the feeling, and it was positive. At least we did something with our day!

Team Manager
"We had a big testing plan today for Pedro Acosta, with a third bike on his side of the garage, and a long list of items to try, including some aero parts and different sort of bike configuration, but the weather did not play on our side today, and we weren't able to do much. On Augusto Fernandez’ side, we took what we could take on the wet. He is going through a tough period, but we tried to get laps in the wet, to improve this feeling. The target was to try giving him a bit more confidence, and anything we can do to help him is positive for us.
