#ItalianGP - May 29, 2024

From Montmelo in the outskirts of Barcelona in Spain, to the beautiful countryside of Tuscany in Italy, Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 is already settling down at the iconic Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello for the first back-to-back races of the season, the Gran Premio d’Italia Brembo. Pedro Acosta and Augusto Fernandez will be eager for a new race week after their Catalan Grand Prix did not end as they had wished, with Acosta taking P13 and Fernandez unable to finish the race.

The twenty year-old MotoGP™ rookie, Pedro Acosta will face another layout to discover for the first time in the premier class, but as a boost of confidence, he will have his results from the past, after the young Spaniard won both 2022 and 2023 editions in Moto2™, having qualified both years on the first row. To that, we will add the fact that the Gran Premi de Catalunya was probably one of the best weekend of the rookie this season so far, after he was fast and competitive from the Friday morning, taking P3 of the Sprint, all the way until Sunday’s race, during which we saw him being a real threat for the win, until he crashed. The Pierer Mobility bikes had decent results last season at Mugello, and all of this gathered lets us think that it can be another good weekend for the Shark of Mazarron.

Augusto Fernandez’ crash in the race on Sunday left him with a feeling of unachievement, after the number 37’s timesheets were healthier than the previous rounds. The feeling on the bike has been coming back, and it has allowed Fernandez to feel more confident on the bike, but somehow the progress made has still not been reflected on the races’ results, something we hope Augusto Fernandez will be able to change this weekend, as he still targets his first top 10 result of the season.

Don’t miss a second of the Gran Premio d’Italia Brembo as Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 boys will start their Italian campaign on Friday with Free Practice 1 at 10:45 local time (GMT+2) for forty-five minutes, which will be followed in the afternoon with Practice at 15:00, for an hour. Super Saturday in the hills will see Pedro Acosta and Augusto Fernandez begin the day with Free Practice 2 at 10:10, which will be followed immediately by the qualifying sessions at 10:50. In the afternoon, the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello will host the seventh Tissot Sprint of the season, at 15:00. Finally, after ten minutes of warm up in the morning, Sunday will see the main race start at 14:00 local time. Let’s get on the gas!

"I am super happy to be back in Mugello, a track where I have had good results before. Of course, it is a new track for us again, and our approach remains the same as every week. We will have to take it step by step, but I think that Mugello is a good track for our bike, and it gives me confidence that we can work well. Last week in Barcelona, we were competitive all weekend, and our target is to work in the same way. Let’s see how it goes there, but I am looking forward to this new race week!"

"After a crash in Barcelona, I am happy to be already heading to Mugello for a new race week and I already can not wait to start the work on Thursday. The track is a tricky one, and it will be important to be competitive from Friday. In Barcelona, we felt better since the start, and I am hoping that this week we will be too.

"The first back-to-back of the season awaits us and takes us to Mugello for the historical Gran Premio d’Italia Brembo. Mugello, the circuit of all records, especially speed records, is surrounded by the beautiful Tuscan hills, which creates a special atmosphere. Pedro Acosta will discover what it feels like to ride a MotoGP bike here, and we know that he will be hungry for revenge. Last week in Catalunya, he had a great weekend, he was amongst the fastest, and was in the fight for the win on Sunday, but another crash in the race saw him having to settle with just a P13. The good thing is that a new race week is already there, and it will boost him to succeed, on a circuit where he is fast, having won in Moto2. Augusto Fernandez is feeling better on the bike, he has been faster during the sessions last week, but somehow these improvements are not turned into points during the races. It is the moment to change this, and a back-to-back race is the perfect moment to do it!
