As the 2024 season curtain came down on Sunday at the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona with Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 saying goodbye to Pedro Acosta, Augusto Fernandez and its red colours, it did not take long for 2025 to start. On Tuesday morning, the newly renamed Red Bull KTM Tech3 squad was back to KTM orange, with a brand new and exciting line up heading out on track for the first day of 2025 at the Barcelona Test.
As the squad welcomed its two new riders amongst its ranks, the Barcelona Test was the perfect opportunity for both to try the RC16 and get the first impressions on a machine quite different to their previous bikes. The first outings were positive, although both Red Bull KTM Tech3 riders were well aware that many laps were needed to come to truly get their hands around the KTM machinery. The main focus of the day for both was to clearly get the first feelings on the bike, the first feedback, and as it is often the case, both focused a lot on ergonomy to try arriving at Sepang with as much information as possible. With a total of 129 laps riden between them, Maverick Vinales and his teammate will head to the offseason on a very positive note, already looking forward to more KTM sensations in February!
That’s the end of MotoGP™ track action for this year. We leave Barcelona with a lot of positives heading to the offseason. While everyone heads home to recharge batteries after an intense season, the squad will also get ready for 2025, with next on the Sepang Test on February 5-6-7th, 2025. Until next time!
