Tech3 KTM Factory Racing’s Iker Lecuona, who started the 13th race of 2021 at the MotorLand Aragón circuit today from P13 on the grid, once again delivered a rocket start. He made up three positions already on the first lap and battled his way through to seventh in the course of just a few laps. He showed great potential with lap times that equaled the top. Yet a mistake made him fall back to P11 with five laps to go, which he finally brought over the line.
During the 13th weekend of the 2021 MotoGP World Championship at the MotorLand Aragón circuit, Iker Lecuona managed to gradually move forward. The Spanish youngster lowered his personal best from Friday already in FP3 this morning by 0.697 seconds. In Qualifying he did another step and went 0.321 seconds faster again. Thereby, he missed out on what could be a first Q2 entry this season by just 0.164 seconds, equaling his best grid position this year with P13.
Tech3 KTM Factory Racing’s Danilo Petrucci concluded day one at the Spanish Motorland Aragón circuit inside the top 15 of the highly competitive premier class today, after missing out on a provisional Q2 spot by just 0.265 seconds. The Italian showed a decent opening day and improved by 1.39 seconds from FP1 in the morning to FP2 this afternoon.
