French motorcycle star Johann Zarco was born on the 16th July 1990, and quickly developed a passion for motorcycles at a young age. His first taste if racing was contesting in pocket bike events in Europe and specifically in Italy, after linking up with manager Laurent Fellon in 2003. The Cannes born rider quickly advanced through the ranks in Europe and grabbed global attention by winning the MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2007.

He then began his World Championship career in 2009 by contesting in the 125cc class. After two years of constant and impressive progress, his standout campaign was in 2011, where he superbly finished as the series runner-up in the ultra-competitive shootout and he clinched ten podiums, four pole positions and a maiden victory at the Japanese GP.

His talent saw him graduate up to the intermediate class and here he seized the Rookie of the Year title after delivering some noteworthy results, such as a 4th place at the Portuguese event in what was only his third race on a Moto2 bike. The momentum continued in the following year, where he stormed to his first podium at the Italian Grand Prix, and also produced another solid display by finishing on the podium at the Valencia GP. 2014 yielded more success with four podiums and seven front row qualifying performances as he carried on turning heads.

Then, Zarco dominated the 2015 season by blazing to eight victories and only missing out on the podium on four occasions as he sealed the championship win at the 15th round of the calendar in Japan. Furthermore, the French star broke the record for the highest number of points collected in a season in the intermediate class as he scored 352.

In 2016, Zarco continued from where he left off and he once again brilliantly took the championship to become the only rider to achieve the title twice in succession in the moto2 class, after obtaining seven victories and seven pole positions.

Last season he did his highly anticipated step up to MotoGP with the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team and together, the rider and the crew sought to adjust to the Yamaha YZR-M1 at their best, before he started to consistently fight for the podium in the highest category. He completed his 2017 season with the award of the best young rider in MotoGP, plus earned the laurels for the best independent rider.

Johann Zarco will continue his adventure with the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team in 2018, aiming to display his incredible talent yet again.
